Applying to Live in I-House

To qualify for visiting scholar accommodations, you must be a faculty member or post-doctorate or doctoral guest of UC San Diego.

Please familiarize yourself with the International House at UC San Diego and ensure that this is the type of living community that you are interested in. We receive many applications on a daily basis and want to ensure that the scholars we accept are a respectable match for our principles and community.

Be prepared to submit the following documents along with your application:

• VSIRP Application and Essay Questions
• Invitation Letter from UCSD
• DS2019 Form
• CV/Resume

Please do NOT apply if you do not meet all of the criteria listed in Step 1 above.

We'll notify you once your application has been received. Please allow up to four (4) weeks for your application to be reviewed.

Determining factors and acceptance into the VSIRP are based upon the criteria listed above, the essay questions, and availability of rooms.

If we feel that you are the best match for our community, then we will send you detailed instructions for submitting your deposit, rental agreement, and move-in packet via e-mail within four (4) weeks of receiving your application.
