International House contains roughly 50% international students and 50% American students. This mixture provides opportunities for international and American students to live and work together. Additionally, International House carries the benefits of living on campus, allowing residents to walk to their classes, and surround themselves with other students.
The majority of I-House rooms are inhabited by a single resident, but there are some rooms that house two students. Most apartments are shared by 4 students and include a shared kitchen living room and bathroom. A select number of apartments house 6 students and are split between two floors.
The housing and dining website contains information about the costs of an on campus apartment.

If you wish to live in UCSD's International House, you must submit an application. Applications will be given priority for consideration based on our selection process. While previous international experience is not required, a genuine interest and willingness to participate in the I-House community is essential.
Because admission to International House is competitive and is never guaranteed, we encourage you to consider other housing options at the same time that you apply for I-House. If you are interested in living on-campus, other on-campus housing is available. There are also many off-campus housing options to consider.
There are many ways to get involved in I-House.
