Language Conversation Tables (LCTs)

This program provides students at UC San Diego with the opportunity to practice language skills and broaden their cultural understanding. LCT Hosts are members of the UC San Diego learning community who commit one or more quarters to volunteering as facilitators. 

 

Participants can:

  • Connect with students from all over the world
  • Practice languages in a friendly, relaxed setting 
  • Take part in a cultural exchange on a weekly basis

Volunteer LCT Hosts: 

  • Share their language and culture with others
  • Actively contribute to the I-House community
  • Improve their interpersonal skills
  • Are eligible to receive Co-Curricular Record (CCR) credit

Winter 2020 Languages Offered

Tuesdays at 5:00 PM: Amharic, Cantonese, Dutch, English, Farsi, French, German, Irish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish.
