A large part of the International House staff is filled by students. Below are a number of positions that are traditionally filled at the beginning of the year, although openings throughout the year are not uncommon. Most International House or other job positions are posted by September 15th. Look for open positions on Port Triton.

Facility Monitor - Positions Open

Four open positions for fall 2009. Be part of the team which maintains the beautiful I-House facilities and sets up, takes down, cleans up and monitors for events hosted at I-House. Event examples include I-House activities, lectures, banquets, weddings and more. Facility Monitor responsibilities also include the set up and monitoring of equipment (audio visual, stage, dance floor, etc). The position has flexible hours. FMs work on average 12 hours per week with significant hours on nights and weekends.

Media Intern - Volunteer

Under the supervision of the Director of International House, the Media Intern coordinates aspects of I-House media outreach. The Media Intern assists with the I-House Newsletter, the I-House website and the I-House Calendar. Newsletter coordination includes writing articles and documenting events within the I-House community. The Media Intern is expected to work approximately 5-7 hrs per week. International Affairs Fellowship

This is a mandatory live-in position. The International Affairs Fellow under the supervision of the Director of International House coordinates all aspects of IAG. IAG is a student group which meets weekly at I-House on Monday evenings at 7pm to discuss political, economic, cultural and social issues of international interest. Fellows will also advise the Model United Nations team at biweekly meetings and serve as resource to Model United Nations and I-House Director on I-House/Model United Nations programs/collaborations. Compensation includes room and board for the academic year. FILLED FOR 09-10.  Look for applications during spring quarter 2010.

Programs and Marketing Intern

This is a mandatory live-in position. Help market I-House programs though the production and distribution of event flyers, updating of I-House calendar and website, staffing of I-House tables, and more. The PMA will also assist with general office duties, data entry, filing, setup/cleanup for I-House programs. The PMA will work 18 hours per week on a fixed schedule between the hours of 9am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday with occasional work outside those hours. The working schedule will be fixed at the beginning of each quarter. Compensation includes room and board for the academic year. Filled for 09-10. Look for applications during spring quarter 2010.
